Congrats on not feeling threathened, I don't think that was the thought of the OP. More about being prepared if bad comes to your house. I live in a nice area, all the same my carry pistol is always close to me and on the desk top when I'm at the computer. I doubt I'll ever need it but if I do it is close at hand.

To answer the OP question currently a S&W M&P 45.

It really doesn't matter where you live nowadays as the bad guys are everywhere. Last time I checked, many home invasions happen in nice neighborhoods as folks that live there have "stuff" the BG's want. A gun in your bedroom doesn't do much good if you're in the living room when someone breaks in. Hell, I have one in the bathroom as you're pretty vulnerable with your pants down...

I would also like to clarify that I don't live in a bad neighborhood, nor do I think anybody is out to get me. I'm just the type of person that likes to be prepared for as many possible scenarios as I can.

I don't have any guns sense the boating accident, but if I did have one it would be a High Power as a desk gun

We've got security at work, so I trust them to keep me safe.

Seriously, there are people that have worked here for years that still can't find my office. . . . and that is just the way we like it.

Nah, if anyone comes in here, I'll give them the computer and tell them to read the FTF posts in their spare time. Actually I have somewhat of a black stick an arms length to the left.
