Design your ideal range & home defense pistol.
If you can have your way and have one gun for range and home defense use, what will it be? You can start from scratch or from an existing platform/model and just add some wish list upgrades. Maybe hybridize 2 or more existing pistol or add a feature from another.
Maybe change... caliber, capacity, weight, trigger pull weight, sight material, grip size, grip shape, color, barrel length, material used (on various parts), etc. Rules: - This is a range and HD gun (note AND). - It has to be a; practical, physical & doable change, not a wacky wish like .500 mag w/ zero recoil or something. - Preferably something that can be mass produced and have an MSRP of less than $2,500. Any takers? :D |
I'll try:
Single stack stainless steel 1911a1 in .45ACP Light attachment, laser in grips. Good (non-adjustable) sights 4lb trigger |

I haven't shot anything that can compete with it in the category of personal carry in my personal opinion. I love that little pistol and it will flat shoot the bullseye out of a target at 8-10 yards without a problem. IMHO it's perfect. JD |
