ive had a DE in my collection since 1986 starting with their 357 magnum. if yours is a 50 get the conversion to 44 if its a 44 get the 357 kit. the 44 conversion has about the same felt recoil as a 1911 and the 357 version is about like a weak M9 berreta fullsize. if you cant handle the 357 version i suggest selling it for a different gun
i regret trading my 357 desert eagle for the 50AE. it was a very very fast shooting gun with almost no muzzle flip.

JonM said all the important stuff. My DE44 is a range-fun/hunting
caliber match for a .44 Marlin carbine.
Bear in mind if you reduce recoil, you're going to also reduce power
at the target, and it seems overly expensive to buy a cannon, and
reduce it to a lighter gun...
Wouldn't a Beretta 96, or 92, be more sensible at the outset?
Lower power ammo won't work well in a DE44 or DE50. Been there, done that,
sorry.
