Desert Eagle .357 XIX
I have a desert eagle 357 XIX. I started out shooting 158gr Magtech SJHP and realized that the lead fouling caused all my jamming problems and bought some Blazer 158gr JHP and tried it yesterday. It only allowed the first shot but would not pick up and chamber a second round no matter what. I had to re-slide every time to chamber a new round. This happened trying three different magazines. I have since read that Blazer is low-ball ammo anyway especially in a great pistol such as the desert eagle or highpower!
I ordered some Black Hills 158gr JHP and am hoping for the best!
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!
At least I have an SP 101 to shoot up all the other stuff
Thanks,
Dan

I had a .44 mag Desert eagle. It didn't jam quite as often as yours but it did jam quite a bit. That's one of the main reasons I got rid of mine. Not a suggestion, only my $0.02

Are all of the desert eagles like this? I was considering forking out the 1,400 for the .50 Magnum

Thanks guys,
I did finally think of going to the website and found this: Magnum Research, Inc.
Click on FAQs' and then how to shoot!
Gonna go out in the arroyo and give it a whirl with both the type rounds I have now!

LOL DE are CRAP. That is the problem. I would never admit in the open I owned one. I have shot one You have to have a damn he-man grip on the thing, it spits brass in your face, jams all the time, it is so heavy you need 2 Mexicans (OOPS illegal immigrants) to carry it for you.
Only good for drug dealers and The Matrix.
There is only one good use for a DE and it ain't no good at that either. That is a Boat anchor.

Well, I went to Magnum Research's web and found under FAQs', the proper way to shoot the Desert Eagle!
I was definately "limp wristing" in the past so I went out into the arroyo with three mags loaded with the Magtech 158gr. SJSP and fired all three in rapid succession with out one hiccup using the suggested shooting technique.
Before this I couldn't get thru ONE magazine without a jam or half-lock
However, the Blazer rounds (aluminum cased) still had to be manually cycled each time! Oh well!
