My advice would be to first look into the legality of black powder. Next is getting a couple of well-trained protection dogs that are trained to eat only out of their own dishes. Electronic alarms have proven to be a reliable deterrent in the past. My way of thinking is when it comes to saving lives to hell with the law.

I forgot to mention that for centuries people have used a flock Guinea hens to alert people of intruders. We have some on our farm and they even make a racket when a deer crosses the yard after dark. Geese are also known to do the job. Being alerted to intruders is the first line of defense.

answer = cap and ball pistol, unless they dont allow those either. my 1858 remington is the most accurate handgun I own. puts big holes in stuff to! Le matt pistol is awesome its a combination pistol /shotgun one of the most destructive pistols of its time.

Not trying to scare you but think for a second really think about 15 attackers pulling a raid on your place. I honestly think unarmed all you can do is put up a fight but doubtful the outcome would end well for you. If you plan to stay my advice would be to set up perimeter alarms or something comparable and plan your escape. In my opinion the thread should be titled ESCAPE STRATEGY NEEDED. Good luck and I sincerely hope everything works out for you.
