Country Mouse
The plan is to head into the city . A quick overnighter with some old friends. As time goes on, they are less and less comfortable in their upper middle class neighborhood. Their response has been to store food, water, and acquire some firepower.
Taking the truck or the Jeep, grandma and I have extra space. Along with its usual tools (axe,High-Lift, shovel, and---), I'll have my "get home bag" and my EDC, a SR 9c or S&W 3" .357. What would you take in addition?
Remember, if forced to abandon the vehicle you can only carry so much, you don't want to draw attention, and if you leave it- it won't be at home when you get there.

I'd not be afraid, that's what I'd do. Just go and have fun. Nothing is going to happen.

If you're worried then fine, but remember, you want to look vanilla not like a deer hunter or swat team member. Blend in.

Take along a good six foot walking stick. They're better for more than just balance if you really need it!
