From what I can find, the gun is a Mauser, made in 41 or 42 for the German Military.

Lugers are a VERY complex issue. Some examples bringing thousands of dollars and some that were captured by the Russians and subequently reworked may only be worth a few hundred.
If they are worth it to you, that is all the really matters. $1200 for the pair is probably fair, PROBABLY! The Colt .22 revolvers were also made in many iterations and I an not a collector of either so I really do no know.

I have one of the Peacemakers like yours. Gents- these are modern 22 LR/ 22 Magnum. They are good guns, but do not confuse with the colt Single Action Army in cal. 45 Colt.

Regarding the Luger that sounds like a fairly good price, but pictures would help also .

This ^^^^ and thank you.
Sounds about right for that Colt, if indeed it is a .22. Maybe he just wants to get rid of it due to non-use?
Are you buying these to shoot regularly and use or are they eventually in-bound safe queens and designated future invested hopes, for increased value investment through non use/collectors/relic items?

Well, with the suggestions and your research, it is all now up to what you determine as a fair and reasonable investment, and parting of your hard earned funds. Either a positive climb in value/and or profit or just some sure collateral in the future. They are guns, they will always have some value.

Prices seem about right for both guns, less than a dealer would want and more than a dealer would give. I bought a Colt with two cly last year for same price from a pawn shop, prices would be higher now.
Both pistols look great. Good buys as neither will ever get cheaper!
