cobra?
 

Ok y'all, for Christmas I got a cobra derringer .38, my question is are these things safe? I have shot it once and it shot ok, but with it being that brand and all, should I just put in in the safe?

I like the new ones OK, I had an older one years ago, even then I knew it was a left-handed gun as it was so loose. I expect yours will also get just a bit looser every shot. Might be OK for pocket carry, seems like that is what most guys buy them for.

I thought most guys that bought derringers bought 'em for their boyfriends. :D

Thanks for the reply, it was a gift intended for a novelty or display. Its very cool looking, and the recoil is not bad at all. Dont think I would carry it though. But a fun pistol none the less.

25# trigger pull & it will hit the "side of a barn" if your close enuff :p

yeah about that trigger pull lol!!! And I hit a card bord circle 16" in diameter 5 out of 8 times from 10 feet!! LOL!:) But it is a very neat little gun and I find it really cool!

Actually I think that a derringer has a lot of possibilities. I knew a guy that carried 2 as backups, One in his boot and one behind a belt pouch that he found somewhere that had an integrated holster for one. I wouldn't carry it as a primary weapon, or even as a primary CC weapon but as a last ditch belly gun they are a good option.
