Damn you! Now I'm gonna have to buy one too to see how I like it. I hate it when that happens!

I've chosen the SR22 so now I'm trying to find the right ammuntion for it for range use.

I've tried the Remington Golden Bullets but it doesn't seem to like it very much. I've had a few FTF and the slide does not lock back after the last round. I've tried the CCI stingers which seem to work well but I'm looking for something more economical for range use.

I'm planning on trying:

CCI Mini Mag
CCI AR Tactical
CCI Blazer

I seem to have an affinity for CCI ammunition.

Are there any other recommendations?

Ah CCI and Federal, the ammo most Ruger 22s seem to prefer. Many gripes in my crowd over the Remmys. How is the trigger on the SR? Will you hang a light on it?

CCI produces good ammo. My 22/45 is more accurate and consistent with federal bulk than anything else I have put through it. The best part is the federal is so inexpensive... did well with the winchester wildcat. 22s as well... the mini mags I tried from 3 different batches never shot well from my rifle and only one pf the 3 did well in the pistol...

I'd have to say Ruger MKIII 22/45. It is an amazing gun, but my only complaint about it is that when you try to disassemble it for the first time, it is the biggest pain. Other than that very well made and accurate gun.

What Federal ammunition do you suggest I try with my SR22?

I used federal champion bulk pack . Did decent. CCI mini mags are great.

I've got a sig mosquito which is really picky, but it eats up the Remington Thunderbolts. @ $2.00 per 50, it's hard to beat that price.

Just go get a box of everything on the your LGS shelf and try it all. That's really the only way you'll know what your pistol likes.

Or go get a Ruger SP101 or S&W 617 revolver and you won't have to worry about it.
