charter arms 40cal revlover
1 Attachment(s)
This looks like a very nice pistol. Im just wondering if anyone has one or has heard anything about it. I really like the 40cal, it has alot of punch, and the ammo is cheaper than a 357.
Also, the 2.3 in revolver barrel would be longer than a 2.3 in automatic barrel, as the chamber isnt counted in with the length, and this would help accuracy a bit.

Lets hear some opinions, Id love to hear them.

I love Charter Arms Revolvers I have several, but I don`t like the .40 ! I would rather have something with a little more ump, say a 10mm !

Revolver calibers are generally stronger than auto calibers. Autos boast a greater capacity and quicker reload. Why choose the lesser of both worlds?

I guess I just don't get running auto-cals in a revolver. Make it a big-boy 357mag (superior to 40sw as a defense/hunting round IMO), and still plink 38sp at the range for 40sw money.

Im glad for the positive info on charter arms. I am interested in just a revolver in general, with a low price and some decent power. I will probably go with a 357, just for the selection of barrel sizes and ability to use a 38 as well. I am really looking for someone who has one, who can attest to accuracy out of the shorter barrel, or just a general good recomendation on the particular 40cal revolver.

Other than that, i really just want to know about charter arm in general. Ive gotten a couple good words, but are there any problems to look for?

I have a 38 CA ultra lite and like it . I also carried a revolver for 22 years. With all the very good 40cal pistols out today I would never buy a revolver in it. And Not light by todays standards. I would buy a kahr cw40 before the CA. they can be bought for just over 400 dollars.

Pjj342 Remember how semi-auto barrels are measured. From the butt end of the chamber to the tip of the barrel. That said the revolvers 2" short barrel would be a 3 1/2".. Both lose some energy ,the revolver thru the cylinder gap semi-autos thru the functioning of the action.

i never leave the property without a 70s vintage 38 CA undercover. a 40cal would fill the gap between the 38 and 45 just as it does with the 9mil and 45 . whether i buy one or not depends more on the gun than the caliber. like i said it's an interesting idea. by the way i had a kahr cw9 for awhile. a good gun i just never could warm up to it.
