Very popular and new, so it can be hard to find. Mine was only out for 15 mins before I picked it up.

I just got a H&K P2000sk in 9mm and it is a great compact/carry pistol. Its not the cheapest option but take a look. It was worth the price to me the first time I took it to the range. Good luck.

Go to a couple gun shops and gun shows...and pawn shops...

Try out as many as you can that look interesting to you...

Read up on the Good Brands and off-brands...that way you won't get shafted with a Lorcin or some other SNS/POS...

When done, let us know which caliber Glock Gen 4 you got

Being a Gorilla-sized kinda guy, I CCW a Glock 20SF (Gen3)...mostly because I can hide it in a M/C jacket & being a pistoleer who knows what to do with 10mm...

In my twin's diaper bag we conceal a Calico pistol & 2 spare mags...which is 300 rounds of 9mm within arm's reach!!
This is good for me or the Wifey (she's a retired Jarhead), whichever happens to be holding the bag

Oh, and once they outgrow diapers I've got a Power Rangers backpack set up to hold the Calico while surrounded with toys...lol

Who's going to look twice at a guy with two sons carrying a Power Rangers backpack??

Try a ruger lc9. I like mine 7+1 and very concealable. Very long trigger pull though

CW9 kahr is about the same size and weight. Price can be around $375 today with a 6lb smooth da type trigger. Or for pocket cc the cm9. Good cc pistols

Things may be changing. After the court opinion came down in March, I sent in my CCW package. Then after the recent apeal, I actually got called in for the interview. The interview, IMO, went well. The officer indicated he was forwarding the package recommending approval. If all goes well, I could be seeing the card next month.

I am a bit of a contrarian. I have a S&W 340 revo for carry and a 640 for practice.

The Shield is a great carry gun. I would never choose one as my "one and only" handgun, but for a carry specific gun it's just about perfect in my opinion.

The size/weight to capacity ratio is outstanding. Very compact. I carry it in a belly band loaded with 8+1, and then 7rds in the spare mag. If you find yourself in a situation where 16rds of 9mm isn't adequate...well, that's Karma kicking your @ss for the handful of poor decisions that led you to that moment.

It's a very controllable gun. Quite accurate and an excellent trigger compared to its competitors. I guess what I should say is that it's easier to be accurate with than its competitors. I've shot most of the micro 9mms out there from Kahr, Ruger, Kel-Tec, etc. Kahr's PM9 and CM9, and Ruger's LC9 are all solid options. Kel-Tecs function really well for the price, but aren't much fun to shoot. The Kahr CW9 and Sig P290 left me utterly disappointed. I've yet to shoot Sig P938 or Rohrbaugh R9.

I'm still waiting on my (yet to arrive) SA XDs45 to give the Shield a little competition. Those are the two carry guns that would seem to best suit my carry preferences. The Shield is outstanding. I bought mine all of a week after they were announced, and have exactly zero complaints. It's a borderline micro that affords me joy at the range, and both comfort and peace of mind when I'm out and about. In other words, for me...it's just about perfect.
