A Colt? Yes. Post the sn, using x's for the last two or three numbers.
Like this---2345XX. Include the model number/name and be sure to
include any letters in the sn.
Some guns are easy to date by sn. Colt, Winchester and a few others
have good records available. Remingtons can usually be dated by a
alphabetic code on the barrel. In the case of others you are out of
luck dating by sn, and can only do a best guess by features.
