Buying sight unseen

Hey all.
I'm shopping around for a used CZ-82, and found a few (a ton actually) listings on GunBroker. One of the better deals is from a seller who uses a stock photo for their listings. The handgun sold may not necessarily match the picture in condition or finish.

Anyone ever bought something online without having seen pictures of the actual handgun? Obviously, with a CZ-82 some scuffs and wear are to be expected, but I'd hate to end up with a weapon that looks like it's been through a sandblaster or a bomb blast, but still be technically "functional."

Check the guys feedback. I bought a P-64 from J&G Sales and paid extra for a hand select. Figured a company as large and reputable as J&G would not screw me over. Got a real first rate gun!

Treat it like any sale. Check comments and feedback from other buyers who have worked with him. Ask him to send pictures of the actual gun you are buying. Check how long the seller has been on Gun Broker and how much he sells. Gun Broker is pretty strict with it's patrons. If this seler sells a lot there he doesn't want to loose his account. Ask as many questions as you can and request as many pictures as you can. Assuming the seller has nothing to hide they will do anything they can to make you a happy buyer who will leave good feedback. If they aren't helpful move on to another seller. A CZ82 is a great gun. I love mine but it is not a rare gun. If this seller won't work with you there are many others out there.

Yes, have bought several guns sight unseen from wholesalers.

As said, look at the feedback for the seller. If he has a few hundred (or more) positives, and happy customers, odds are you would be happy too.

One young man who has purchased such CZ's is glitch.
He is on this forum. Find him and PM.

Thanks, everyone. The seller looks to have reliable feedback on over 20,000 transactions. A few complaints here and there, but with that volume, you can probably expect a few.
