Best pistol under CA limitations

Hi All,

I'm new here and basically came to get the experts opinion about a decision I've made (well, not written in stone yet ;)).

Unfortunately, when living in CA there're some (too many!!!) restrictions in regards to firearms, in this particular case is the limitation to only three 10mm pistols (which are Glock 20, Glock 29, and Kimber). Based on the options, and after considering best bang for the buck, I've decided to go with the Glock 29.

What do you think? Any input would be highly appreciated. Also, let me know if additional info is needed.

Thanks in advance.

Aren't the Colt Delta Elite and EAA Witness cali safe?

I guess not. For more info you can check the following:

Tip - sort by caliber and then search the page for 10mm

Guess it's lack of loaded Chamber indicator.

Hard choice honestly. I love Glocks for shooting, but hate them for defense because of no safety.

I hate Kimbers because of cost and crap warranty, but they're reported to be of high quality and I'll be damned if they don't make some lookers.

I guess I'd risk it on the Kimber. Surprises me Cali hasn't outlawed all Glocks due to lack of manual safety. Sounds like something they'd do. Lol

Then they would need to ban double action only pistols and revolvers with no external safety.

Holy ****! I live in a socialist democratic country, and I have more gun choice freedom then Californians. This is a travesty and an insult to our ancestors who fought for freedom.

Living in Kalifornia ain't sooooooo bad (yet, they're working on that!)---I have managed to legally buy and own several "off-roster" handguns---they are out there, already imported by people from another state or brought from a LEO---I've bought an HK P30S 9mm, a HK 45C, a Walther PPS 9mm, maybe others I can't think of at this moment. Or, if you're coming from another state, you may be able to bring your gun with you (check the law, I am not a lawyer). As for buying a 10mm pistol, my only question would be why would you want such an expensive pistol (cost of ammo) to shoot unless you are going hunting? I believe you would be better served by a 9mm pistol with it's much more common ammo at a lower cost. Good luck!

Like you choice in handguns! You last statement is true for this time in US history. The 9mm Luger/parabellum is the "international" round and cheapest for acceptable self-defense. I know I just opened a can of worms.

yup looks like your choices are limited to Kimber, Glock or old S&W's. If you have the money you should look at a Kimber (fire before buying) or if you are on more of a budget then the Glock is definitely your choice.

Glock 30SF ;)
