I carry a Kel Tec P32. A lot of people think that a 32 is too small but it is very comfortable and easy to carry. I figure if I am going to use it then it will be at close range and I can empty the clip pretty quick. One shot stopping power might not be great but I figure three or four hits will stop about anybody.
Im a fellow supporter of the KT P32, I find that in this size and weight gun .32 is more suitable, They also have extended 10 round mags of which i own a few that are a great accessory to have, If need be i can empty the standard magazine in only a few seconds accurately... I would prefer this gun over the LCP or the P3at...

What if it's a very cold night and everyone including BG's are wearing very heavy jackets with lots of under garments?
I carry FMJs in my p32, did some testing with wet newspapers and several layers of clothing and winter clothing. (Grew up in South Dakota so old winter jackets are abundant.) I was happy with penetration. It may not be ballistically better then the .380 but i carry it as a last resort weapon on my ankle or in my pocket. The only time i would use it is if my Main carry and my Bug was empty... Yes i often carry 3 guns... with the weight of the p32 you literally cant even tell that its there.

Your "testing" that you have described is measuring the effects of velocity. Velocity in and of itself is interesting, but isn't a definitive measurement of something as complex as stopping power.
