That's on you man, I can't determine that for ya. I'll put it this way, I'm extremely forgiving with inanimate objects and love me some SNS because A) I love what everyone else hates by nature & B) I'm a tinkerer into fixer-uppers, but this one was not worth it for me. That said, had I got one without the need of fluff and buff and so picky, I'd probably have a different story. However, squeaky wheel and all.

Thanks!
I'm kinda a fixer-upper myself.

No love for the GSG 1911 .22? I picked one up a few months back and it's lots of fun for not lots of cash.

You can get some rifles in that price range, especially used. For hand guns I think you're mostly SOL except for a few models. The Heritage Rough Rider is the best that comes to mine as far as a quality hand piece.

Cabelas does indeed sell the heck out of the Heritage Rough Rider. Every so often you'll see them on sale for $175 or so in their flyers. If you sign up for their email lists, they often send out coupons for 10-15 bucks off a purchase of $50+.
I know the OP mentioned wanted a semi, but I'd look hard at a revolver. If you're plinking around in the back yard, a revolver won't spit brass all over your lawn that you then have to pick up by hand or run over with the lawn mower.

Budsgunshop is currently selling a six inch model for $160 with free shipping. Comes with a .22 WMR cylinder as well which means you could actually shoot stuff up to coyote if you were close enough to put lead on target. I imagine that'd be possible at 100 yards, especially if you're just on varmint patrol and aren't worried about recovering the meat.

The 4" model's going for a few dollars more if that suits you better.

H&R revolvers are a lot of shooting fun for the money. I have a M929 that I bout nearly 30 years ago (maybe more) and it is a lot more accurate than the price would indicate. I gave less than $100 for it brand new in the early 80's and you can find some pretty good examples now for around that price or even less.

My wife got me a rough rider for my birthday last year, I have put thousands of all different rounds through her, from shorts to colibris to birdshot for snakes, has never failed to go bang, and is accurate enough to enjoy shooting it hours on end, got the mag cylinder too at a local farm supply store brand new for 165 out the door, been nothing but pleased with it.
