Default Beretta M9

With the US Military changing sidearms, will there be a big surplus sale on all of the Beretta M9's that were issued? I was issued the M9 at every PMO I was assigned to and would love to get my hands on one again. Anybody know if they are planning on selling them when the time comes?

Yeah, the US's Modular Handgun System is looking to replace the M9. I've heard it will be later this year or early next year. Depending on their budget I guess.

I also heard they are looking at going back to the .45. If it was me, I think the FNX 45 tactical or Glock 21 would be my choices.

There is a civilian M-9...I bought mine new with a couple of extra mags, pretty reasonable at the time $550. This was maybe 2 years ago I am thinking

Yeah, I've thought about getting a civilian model. I just really, really want a US issued one(s). Be like reuniting with an old friend.

They're available for civilians as well. I drool a little every time I see a pic of one. Still waiting for LGS to get one

If the military abandons the M-9 weapons systems, I suspect that it is much more likely that there will be a great melt-down than a surplus sale.
