I guess I've been reasonably lucky as far as grandma being tolerant of my purchases. I'm not to much into the purchasing mode anymore, but once in a while---.. After 40 + years grandma has gotten to the point of asking , "How many do you---?" That leaves me between a rock and a hard place. If I try to say, "I'm not sure." Then it is obvious I have too many. I sure as heck am not going to lie. So---?
Older is a sorta comfortable place to be. The daughter has been given the Rangemaster that she shot her Sharpshooter Bar 7 with as well as the S$W 686 she chose to carry as her sidearm when we last hunted elk together. The grandson has his mom's 700 6mm and the .300 Savage 99 his grandfather shot his first deer with. The rifle that was his grandfathers grandfather's rifle. Grandpa & grandma purchased a Henry .22 for him. Grandpa and grandma purchased a pink rifle for the grand daughter. I suppose grandpa is leading the grandchildren down a politically incorrect path and is a terrible influence.
