Default arizona ccw (????)

Found a website that states by taking their "class" online, earns you an affidavit that is legitimate and meets the az requirement to receive your permit. So to double check I emailed the concealed weapons unit of dps and asked if it was acceptable. Even gave them the link. But I have a hard time understanding their answer. So if anyone is in az and received their ccw this way or knows someone who did. (After July 2011), and has accurate info would be greatly appreciated... thanks

I'm pretty sure in Arizona you can carry without a permit as long as you can legally own a handgun.

Correct.. however there are a few benefits to obtaining a permit, I would like to take advantage of those benefits .. I just really don't want to have to sit through a class if I don't have to

It is well worth the time for what you learn and brush up on current laws.

Take the class. You will learn something if you pay attention.
