I love 9mm. The round doesn't get enough credit these days.

I don't own any 9MM's yet-
but I would like to find a 1911 model in a 9mm chamber maybe a S&W, Springfield or Kimber. Time will tell-

I have to admit for plinking, cost of shooting, and low amount of recoil, the 9mm makes sense. BUT I wake up each day with no crazed desire or craving to buy 1. Guess I'll just have to squeeze by with my .22s, .45s, .41 mag, .44mags, & .454 casull. It has no space in MY battery as for a plinking round, it's MUCH cheaper to shoot .22s. Since I have "vast" stores of .45 ammo/reloading components I'll stick with .45. I have nothing against 9mm however.

Statistically the best .45acps are only about 5% better as far as "one shot stops" go than the best 9mms (96% vs 91%). However, in a typical large-framed handgun you get about 40% more capacity with 9mm over .45acp. Not to mention the lower recoil will probably allow one to empty that 9mm on target as fast as one could empty the equivalent .45.

IMO with modern ammo technology and current lack of capacity bans, the 9mm has an edge over .45. If they bring back bans on high-caps, then IMO there won't be any reason to go wth the .45, other than cost or recoil sensitivity.

That said, I have a 9mm (Taurus PT92), but I am also looking at a Raging Bull to go along with it, heh.

I'd like to see where you get your stastics. Also the time to expire is not noted in those stastics-you will die from 1 shot from a poisoned dart but it takes a while, that won't stop you from all further acts of aggression AT THAT TIME until later. The time to stop is a MAJOR factor, perhaps the most important. A 9mm bullet MAY expand but a .45 bullet sure won't shrink.
