Default Any way to buy pistols at age 19

I live in Alaska and love pistols, but can't purchase from stores till I'm 21, is there any other way of buying them? That's legal

As far as i'm aware, no. But IF you're a responsible person you CAN get one. I got my first (here in PA) when i was 18.

My suggestion would be to get one of your parents to buy the handgun you want(give them the money if you have to) and when you turn 21 buy it from them. This keeps things legal and still allows you to use the gun

By FEDERAL law, you may not purchase a handgun from a licensed dealer anywhere in the US until you are 21. However, Alaska State law does not prohibit sale to persons 18 and over. You could buy a handgun from a private citizen there in Alaska if you have no other condition that prohibits possessing a firearm.

You may NOT give someone else funds to go to a dealer and buy a handgun for you. THAT is a Strawman sale, an is illegal.
What we have here is... failure- to communicate.

If you are planning to buy a handgun I suggest you to read the laws in your state, a lot of people get themselves in trouble just because they don't know. Now, after reading the laws, I also suggest to take a firearm safety class. After that, the best way to get a handgun before 21 is to ask your parent to buy it for you. In Alaska gun ownership is legal for any person older than 18 and no permit or registration is required. Be careful, even though Alaska doesn't require a permit to conceal carry it is unlawful for people under 21 to do so.

In Texas if you got the cash, go to a gun show and buy from anyone walking around with one for sale. Don't know about Alaska.

Don't ask your parents, hint to them.

The form used by the AFT (4473) asks if you are the purchaser. If your parent decides to "gift" the firearm, that's one thing. To have your parent buy it for you is another.
