I would print that picture of the info out and offer him $300 for trying to rip me off.

Looks like a 107 Series. I'd rate it a little less than 95% condition so likely about $400-$450. And for what it's worth, this past winter I bought a Hamden Supermatic Trophy (step above the Citation) in 99% condition, with the original box for $600. I love High Standards and don't want to trash talk the Citation, but it's nowhere near worth $800.

Haha I didn't offer to buy it. He is the type of kid that says he has a bunch of handguns yet he's 19 and never proves he has any of them.

High Standards Are great guns w an awesome reputation for winning tournaments so I'm not surprised the kid is asking the sun & the moon for it.

Is there an Internet blue book site ? I w like to know the value of a HS Victor in good condition mechanically, 75-80% on the finish.

I have a BB at home but have two Victors. Value will depend on several factors. Barrel length, where it was made, does it have the barrel weight, aluminum or steel vent rib. Need more info to give a better appraisal.

I'm going to call BS on the low-ball values.

Lately, Hi-Standard prices have

SKYROCKETED.

I have a Supermatic Citation 102

with a 6 -3/4" bull barrel I paid 500$

for a couple years ago

I could get 1400$ for right now.

So don't be too quick to believe

published prices.

I DNK, if you're looking for a shooter,

you can get Rugers and Buckmarks

that are also very accurate for 400 to 500$...

You are free to call whatever you like, but I highly doubt another member here has bought more High Standards than I have recently. I'm not just spewing heresay,I'm speaking from firsthand experience. I currently own 5 High Standards (2 Victors and 3 Supermatic Trophies) and all have been purchased within the last year. The most I paid was for an early The Victor 5.5" with weight and that was $650. Bought a pair of 7.5" Trophies fluted, two barrel weights, AND muzzle breaks for $1000 for the pair. One was a 106 and the other a 107. I usually get decent deals on guns, but not that great. Now the really early HS guns may be different, anything prior to the 106 series I don't keep track of. But the gun the OP posted looks to be a 107. I regularly see Citations without a box on forum classifieds for $400 to $500. Sometimes they sell, sometimes they don't. But someone paid $800 for a 107 or even 106 Citation, I'd dang sure want it to be 99% condition with original box in good condition as well.

Blue Book says 80% is $300 and 70% is $200. Subtract 10% if the gun is made in East Hartford.

Ouch ! I paid $250 used and $50 mount, $100 red dot, etc., in the 80s and was offered $550 for it (90s). Mine looks like a 5" barrel w weight from Hamden CT. Looks like I should have taken the $550

Problem was it just shoots so well I couldn't part w it then. I am operating under the assumption I can get a Ruger to shoot as well w some Vorquartzen help. I may be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time I've sold a gun and regretted it.

1001 thanks for BB valuation. Never ask a question, if you can't handle the answer.
