Default Ammo price going up

Last May i purchased my first pistol, a Beretta PX4 .40. I mainly buy Federal ammo and when i started buying it the price was $14.97 a box. Now it is $16.97. What the hell man. Who's fault is this?

Supply and demand. Raw metals prices, especially.

The raw materials used to manufacture ammunition are commodities. Commodities are traded just like stocks and bonds, so prices rise and fall with the market.

But mostly because of F***ing Maobama.

I'll bet that price will seem pretty great in a year or two. Get ready for a steady dose of stateside inflation.

It's not all going crazy. I picked up several boxes Fed Champion 9mm at Walmart the other day for $10.50 each. And I've seen a number of good deals recently 5.56...like 420ct ammo can of Federal 62gr green tips for about $150 at a local store, or 20rd 55gr Lake City at Walmart for $5.50.

Prices are crazy .380 costs as much as .45 ACP did a few years ago.

Hey, seeing as how you're in Ft Lauderdale, you should check out this group buy out of Dixie Guns and Ammo in Pompano Beach.

GROUP BUY BULK AMMO : GroupSpaces

40sw Tula steel 180gr fmj 50rounds - $12.50/bx - $250/case
40sw pmc 165 gr 50 rounds - $15.75/bx - $315/case
40sw rem golden sabre 165gr jhp 25rnd - $13.75/bx

Last month, they had a really good deal on Sellier & Bellot in .40:
40 S&W S&B 180 gr FMJ: $13.75, $275 per 1000

The group buy changes every month, so if you don't like what they have this month, you might like what they have next month.

There prices always seem to beat Lucky Gunner, so that's good enough for me. (I only buy 9mm though so I can't say this is true of every caliber).

I used them last month and have another order in this month, so if you have any questions, you can PM me.
