Prices on some things are going see a permanent increase...especially those AR/AK related as well as the corresponding ammunition. Any caliber that tends to lend itself toward "high-capacity" or even a hint of "assault rifle" is going crazy right now...and that even includes 22lr and 9mm.
But almost nothing will remain at the
currently stupid prices. A week or two ago I watched a "Bud's" auction for 10x500rd bricks of 22lr go for about $800. That's $80-90 per (w/ s&h) for $15-20 boxes. A day later I bought similar boxes locally for $18ea.
Don't buy into the stupidity. 22lr, 9mm, 40sw, 223/5.56, 308, 12ga, etc...these are staple rounds, and they're not going away any time soon.
They will be back on the shelves, and for more reasonable prices.
But it wouldn't suprise me to see a permanent price increase of about 25% on many products due to demand and tremendous backorders. Companies/businesses always need to consider the replaceability of a product when determining prices, as do the manufacturers. So I think the current demand is bound to result in a fixed change. But that's an increase over the old prices, not the current ones. Some of the current prices have people paying 50%, 100%, even 400% in some cases, over normal prices.
