Hey John; I have an XD 45 compact and it does OK. Totally reliable and very controllable. 10 and 13 round mags available. I got mine new for $500 otd with 3-10 round mags and Springfield sent me 2 more 10 round mags and a double mag holder free. I did not want the 13 round mag and the seller swapped me 2 10 round mags for it. It came with the XD gear which is a holster and a double mag pouch.

Sorry shoulda been more clear, I was referring to the grip design and trigger. Which is totally personal taste.

BigByrd: you did Good. The SR1911 in either size Is the 1911 I would buy If I wanted a 1911 in 45! Ruger told us at SHOT that there were no Plans to "introduce" an SR45 in the "C" sized Compacts of the SR9c and SR40c. They seem (Ruger) to be putting their energy into the 1911's...
I know a Lot of Folks Like the XD's,..and claim they are "Better then Glocks" (I wouldn't know, as I don't have either)...
Either Way,..Enjoy!

Now, I will give a cookie to anyone that finds a level 2 retention holster for this SR45!

Giving me fits! Someone said a BlackHawk for SR40 MAY work with a small interal holster trim job...

I have to agree with JonM on the XD. I have no problem shooting it as long I can stop myself from slapping the trigger like a shotgun. The XD is great for IDPA or other run and gun games. The 5" barrel gives you a great sight radius and quick target acquisition. But I cannot carry it all day. Even with a belly band holster it is like trying to conceal a brick.
