Advice on .32 Taurus Revolver
I'm considering a buy of the Model 731 Taurus .32 6-shooter. It's a small frame 32 magnum and appears to be another option for CC.
Anyone have one? What is your rating?

My wife has a 32 H&R Magnum (or are you talking 327 Fed Magnum?) in a Ruger SP101 that she loves, but it is a different beast than the Taurus--much heavier and longer barrel. If you're looking at Taurus, you might want to consider the Model 856 which is basically a J frame but 6 shots of 38 Special. One main reason originally to go to 32 was to get the 6th round, but now you can get a 38 with 6 also.

I'll take a look at the 856. I think also it will be easier to get ammunition for a .38 than for the 32 Magnum.

There are four .32 revolver cartridges: .32 Short, .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Magnum, and the newest, .327 Federal Magnum. That order is also from least to most powerful. I believe (Someone will likely come along to correct me if I'm wrong) that the Taurus 731 is chambered for .32 H&R Magnum.
.32 doesn't leave a very big hole for a self defense gun, and ammo can be tough to find and more expensive. For a carry revolver, IMHO, the best choice would be a Ruger revolver, wither the LCR or SP101, in .38 or .357 Magnum. While a Ruger will cost you more than a Taurus, it won't be by a whole lot, and the better quality will be 100% worth it if this is a gun you plan to trust your life to.

Well, I ended up with a Ruger SP101 w/ Crimson Trace laser. Wow! I can't wait to get to the range this weekend to zero it in!

You just can't go wrong with a Ruger. Good Choice. Be sure to let us know how it shoots. Pitures are always a plus.
