Default Action shooting

I all, I'm looking to start action shooting competition or otherwise. Not to familiar with it but it looks like great practical practice an a ton of fun. I looked and there are only a few IDPA clubs here in CT and they are quite far from me. Any one have any suggestions on how to start and where to look for clubs? Anyone from CT please chime in. Thanks in advance!!

Check any local clubs in the area there may be shooters there you could get involved with. Check the NRA. Welcome to the forum.

I'll agree with checking with local clubs. They will often have matches that are similar to IDPA, USPSA, etc., that aren't sanctioned, so they won't appear on the organizational (i.e., IDPA) website.

Check with any ranges you have to see what groups shot there.

Might check at the New haven Sportsmans Club for any matchs.
