As a cop maybe, as a civilian I highly doubt the validity of that statement. If I'm pulling my gun I'm shooting, because someone else already had their gun out and ready.

Take a look at the Springfield XDm's. IMHO they are much more ergonomic than the Berettas. CZ75b would be one to check out as well.
