There has been .223/5.56 here locally pretty consistently all along, prices just went to $1 a round for basic 55 grain stuff and although in the early days it moved, it didn't move for very long. Whereas last week a ziplock bag with 20 rounds was $18, those same bags this week still unsold are now $15. It's all still stupid when Walmart can sell 100 round value packs for $35 all day long.

@ Squawk That's the god's honest truth of it. Problem is those who are buying just because everyone else is and it's supposedly in their mind going to get "banned" or something. The worst part of it to me is, the only round I can't find these days is 30-30. I just got an old Winchester 94 lever action 30-30 and I can't get anything to fire it with. I've had one box in the last two weeks, and that was a 30 year old box of Remington my dad had. The price sticker on the box was 7.99

Where are you located at? I live in Michigan and I can find 30-30 all day long at any store I go to.

Oddly enough, I'm just north of Atlanta GA.

Wish I had the confidence you guys seem to have regarding this issue. I was pretty certain SCOTUS would overturn ObamaCare. Wrong! I figured there wasn't a snowball's chance in Hell Mr. Obama would get re-elected in this economy. Wrong again. I'll go you one better. Should the Dems win back the House next year, and there's a real good chance they will, all bets are off regarding firearms, ammo, the AWB and everything else connected with what we discuss here.

I don't think the people would give congress to one side at this point, seeing as they are fed up with both and wouldn't want to see one side abusing it's power

That is what happened at the last scare.

(But the ammo shortage is affecting the shooting ranges. Those people with a good supply of ammo are getting the best spots on the shooting range.)

It's pretty plentiful here in NH

I do t know how, but I keep finding ammo. 300 blackout, 308,5.56,.223, .40, 7.62, .45. The only thing I can't find is 9mm. I live in SoCal, I got a couple great LGS.
