If you tried to chamber a shorter round than the weapon was designed to shoot, one of two things is LIKELY to happen-
1. The cartridge will be too far forward, and will not fire.
2. The cartridge will be WAY out of headspace, likely to split casing, MAY damage gun, person holding it, nearby innocent bystanders.

MOST revolver cartridges are rimmed, and headspace off the rim, making case length far less critical.

Bottom line- shoot what the gun was made to shoot. There is a lot of difference between lightning and lightning bug. Do not be misled by SIMILAR names.
Not always.... Rimmed or rimless doesnt matter to me.. Except I cant shoot the 9mm Mak..
...... I suffer from a very rare genetic defect that causes me to be sympathetic toward the International cause. There is no cure.

Trez- I DID say most.

Trez is the proud owner of a Frankengun that will eat just about anything except rocks. There are exceptions to most things- and the gun you have is one of those exceptions.
What we have here is... failure- to communicate.
