My BIL gave me a few 9mm Tracer rounds. The only gun I have in 9mm is my Ruger SR9. Would these be safe to shoot out of my pistol. I was thinking they might only be safe in a carbine.

Your Ruger should be fine. The ammo, one the other hand, can result in Smokey D. Bear beating the crap out of you with his shovel.

Tracer can start a range fire you would not believe.

I do forest fires for a living, after last year and every idiot with more money than since bought tracers, shot them in the woods, started a record amount of shooting fires, my state actually revised statutes to include tracer ammo and exploding targets in the regulated use closures. If it continues they will be deemed illegal here......when we approached the shooters they mostly were “they didn’t do that on American Guns" or we used them in our rifle......"which one sir?”......."the one that looks like Red Jacket".....so stupid, I wish those shows never came out because every idiot with a credit card has a Red Jacket
