9mm, 40s&w,45acp? Is there really a best?
So I have my favorites...but they are situation based.
-45acp for Home Defense/ Concealed Carry
-40s&w for Concealed Carry
-9mm for target practice
What do you choose? and why?
I personally dont think there is a BEST CHOICE...I think it is strictly based on what a SHOOTER IS ACCURATE with, because when the SHTF, its all about Shot Placement!

I have all the pistol calibers. I choose the one I shoot the best, and I shoot the Phoenix HP22 best of all.

Here we go again! How many times does this topic need to be thrashed about.

And here I was thinking this was a social forum rather than a library.

You left one out: .357 SIG. Call it a 9mm on steroids. It seems to be developing a following among cops because of the way it puts bad guys down hard.

The search function is your friend.
Why Rob Pincus now prefers the 9mm over .40 S&W for self defense
Why do I like the 9mm for EDC?
Two words, "Mozambique Drill"!
Why do I like the .45 ACP for EDC?
Big Holes mean More Leaks Out!
Drop the Blood Pressure,
Drop the Target!
Why do I like the 40 Slow & Weak (10mm Lite) for EDC?
I don't.

I think bottle neck pistol ammo is just silly.
I find the likes of the .45 GAP (2003) and the 357 Sig (1994) to be nothing more than expensive Designer Ammo.

I wish I had a dollar for every thread I've read on this subject. But, it's never boring 'cause there is always someone like cane brake to come along & add something interesting to the conversation.

WOW!!!! Last time I checked this was a FIREARMS TALK FORUM! I enjoy being on here and talking to other like minded individuals. IF EVERYBODY talked about totally original ideas and never brought up a similar topic, all we would have on here is replies that said "SEARCH FOR EXISTING THREADS".
I personally enjoy starting a conversation with GOOD GUN OWNERS. I dont care if it was brought up before, I want to talk about it, so I posted it! MAN WAY TO BE THE LITTLE BLACK STORM CLOUD...I actually enjoy hearing peoples perspectives and reasoning. I sorry that you dont
