I have looked at them and dont like the trigger. My G36 points well enough but not quite like a 1911. My XD45 compact handles and points very well and I can shoot it better than my G36 but is 36 oz loaded. The G36 is 28 oz loaded. I cant carry the extra weight due to an injury. Colt does not list the weight on the Defender or New Agent and if it is more than 30 oz loaded I would have to pass. I would still prefer the grip and SA trigger of the 1911 but will probably have to stay with the G36.

This will be my next carry purchase I think. Medium sized compared to my other two carry setups (PF9, BHP)...but 45acp. And I already have the XDm45 4.5".

I'll probably wait a bit and see if they re-start the recently expired mag promo. The grip safety is the perfect "no-brainer" system in a carry rig, IMO.

My Kahr CW45 w/CT... Though it was close, I chose it over the G36 and am very happy with it... 6+1 works for me... 20 oz. unloaded and thin is nice... Truth be told though, I liked it so much I also got a CW9 and that became my preference for carry. (Yeah, I polished the banner sides on the .45's slide.)

I carry a G30 and a G27. I can tell you there is a HUGE difference in size and weight when carrying. 27 fits in some of my pockets (I wouldnt carry it that way though). The 30 is bigger in every dimension (although still small for 11rds of 45). Highly recommend both weapons. My 30 is more accurate than any handgun I've ever shot

The new agent weighs 24oz empty. Holds 7+1. Approx. 29-30 ounces with 8 rounds mileage varies on charge weight and exact case weight and bullet weight. That is about what it is calculated with 230 grain bullets

Look at the S&W M&P .45 compact. 8+1 and sized like a Glock 19 or 23. There interchangeable grip straps and can be had with a thumb safety.
