Default which .40 cals do you own, likes & dislikes?

I'm contemplating the purchase of a 2nd .40 S&W handgun, I currently own a G22 and I am thinking of a compact or sub-compact to go with it. What are your recommendations and warnings?

Thank you all in advance for your input.

If you already have a 22, then a 23 or 27 would make sense. The mags for your 22 will work in the smaller guns, and the trigger and controls will be the same.

My Glocks are 9s and .45s. My only .40 right now is a S&W M&P. Very similar to glock but the trigger is different, and the grip seems more agreeable to more folks (not an issue if you already own and like Glock grips).

I have had a few, my personal preference is a low bore axis .40 cal. My Glock 23 was snappy but I am always back on target quickly, mySig 226 in .40 cal was soft shooting but had much more muzzle flip and follow up shots took much longer. I have M&P 40 on my wish list, perhaps you can let me know after you buy one.

Shield, G23 and a P229. P229 is probably my favorite to shoot of the group, but that's because it's the stainless elite and weighs a 1000 pounds.

S&W40C The dreaded Sigma. Early one with a decent trigger. Very reliable
SW99 and SW99C My wife's guns. Very accurate and reliable, but snappy recoil
G 35 (I have not even shot yet)
Lone Wolf .40 barrel for my G-20. Reliable and accurate with any ammo including the Speer RHT "green" ammo

Zip..Nada..Zero...Had a Glock 23 and just never could learn to like the 40 round. I carried it..shot 1000's of rounds through it and really wanted to like it..Just not for me.

What didnt you like about it...? I have a SW SD40 that i really dont care for at all, but havn't given up on that cal. Seems like that much power, combined with the typical 14+1 mag capacity would be ideal...It is a little "snappy" for me. Quick follow up shots are a problem, but something i was hoping i could get better at if i find one i like...????

The follow up and me being inaccurate was the demise for me. I love my .45's I even have a .357 revolver I love. I think too I really don't like Compact or Sub compact guns. I just don't shoot them well and they do not fit my hands good. I carry a full size 1911 and love it. Just my dumb quirks I guess.....
