The question, "What other calibers do you already have?" is a good one. If limited to only a certain number of weapons, I would suggest also limiting one's caliber choices. So instead of spreading out and having every handgun caliber out there, concentrate on multiple guns in just a few calibers.

I, for one, totally skipped 40S&W. It just isn't for me...

I hate the .40. With a round with that much presser you would expect much better ballistics.
I won't big bullets (.45), a lot of bullets (9mm), or overall powerful bullets (.357sig or 10mm). Anything in between doesn't cut it for me.

Ware are you from? We are all confused about the permit thing. You say you have one permit left so you can only buy one more gun. Ware do you live that you have to have a permit for every gun you buy?

I love my SIG 1911, I have a Nitron. You won't regret it.

I have owned a couple of .40s and have always gotten rid of them to go back to a 9mm , if your shooting comp I would look at 9mm simply because the ammo is so much cheaper and more capacity than the .45 .

One more reason to love Alabama. No permit needed to buy a gun.
