Would a laser intimidate a bad guy in the dark?

Most likely not depending on the situation. But if a bad guy attacks you, one to the gut should intimidate him. If it does not, you have 6 other intimidators with the bodyguard or the LCP.

My brother is a cop and he had an internal laser in his Glock. He said the effect it had on suspects was dramatic. Something about seeing that red dot on your chest really had an impact. (he had to remove it)

Although, why you would bring a knife to a gunfight is a mystery to me but people do strange things all the time.

Why did he have to remove it if it did its job?

I love my Bodyguard .380. But you do have to get used to the trigger. It can be difficult to shoot fast.

Yesterday I shot the Diamondback .380. I really liked it. Good trigger pull. Accurate enough for such a short barrel. Saw it for $299. if I buy another .380, that will be the one.

I carry a Kahr P380 everywhere. It sits in my front pocket even when I have a .45 on my belt.
It is the softest shooting tiny gun I have ever tried. I had a Ruger LCP before the Kahr and my wife hated to shoot it. She said it hurt her hand each time she pulled the trigger. She can shoot the P380 like it was a full sized pistol. The sights are good and the trigger is fine once you shoot it a bit. Long pull but very smooth.
