hey i got a 1911 colt commander .38 super, and im looking to put a compensator on it, but my funds are kinda low. whats a good compensator for a decent price?

You are talking barrel replacement. Check World's Largest Supplier of Gun Parts, Gunsmith Tools & Shooting Accessories - Brownells

The .38 Super is okay, but IMHO the .357 Sig made it irrelevant.
