.327 Magnum-.32 H&R Magnum-.32 S&W Long
Okay, what's the scoop on these calibers? Are the .32 S&W's able to be fired in the .32 H&R or .327? Is anything interchangeable or not? Somebody here can clear this up, I know.

Very much like the .357 Max- .357 Mag- .38 Spec- .38 Short Colt. From right to left, can fire. Left to right, no.

I read on another forum that the .327 and .32 H&R Magnum were interchangeable. Is that true? The implication was a revolver chambered for .327 Magnum could shoot any .32 cartridge.

Like C3 stated, the .327 and .32 H&R are not interchangeable, HOWEVER, and gun made to shoot the .327 Mag can shoot a .32 H&R, as well as a .32 S&W Long or .32 S&W short. A gun made to shoot a .32 H&R CANNOT shoot a 327 Mag, as the chambers are cut too short. Likewise, a gun made for the .32 S&W CABBOT shoot a .32 H&R or a .327 Mag.
If you're thinking about getting one of these, get the 327 Mag, then you can shoot .327 Mags, .32 H&Rs, as well as .32 S&W longs or shorts.

Thanks, Missileman...this is what I was trying to confirm. If the .327 Magnum has that kind of versatility, it is more attractive to me. I enjoy target shooting and pest eradication with the .32 S&W.

I have the SP-101 .327. The 32 S&W longs shoot better in it. When I shoot the shorts, it ended up fouling the cylinders and it's hard to get the shells out. My .327 is a little particular about the ammo it likes. I bought some PrivyPartisan in .32 longs and for some reason it will shoot 5 bullets, but not the 6th one. It also hates wad cutters. Buy the expensive stuff and it loves it. lol

I never shot anything but .32 Longs anyway, so when I eventually wind up with a .327 revolver, I'll stock up on .327 Magnums and .32 Longs. I just can't decide on barrel length yet.
