.22 Sport Shooting Pistol Recommendations

I am looking to start going to sport shootings for .22 calibers. What would be a good gun of choice ? I kind of need to stay on the inexpensive side because my girlfriend will be doing it with me so everything I get will be X2. Thanks

When you go to your first event you can see what kind of 22 pistol everyone is shooting or you can see what the rules specify. You can't just go buy a 22 and find an event. You find an even you like and buy a pistol for it.

You'll end up with a pair of Rugers soon. Then get trigger jobs done on them. They'll last a lifetime of your sports with a part change here and there over the decades. She might prefer the lighter barreled standard version...

I have a Ruger Mark III and I really like it. With the way ammo prices are rising, I will probably be picking up another .22 target pistol.

I have been looking at the Browning Buck Mark .22 series. They have a lot of very nice models to choose from.

I will also be taking a look at the Smith and Wesson .22A Sport Series.

Anyway here is a pic of my Ruger Mark III.

Ruger Single-Six convertible, .22lr/.22mag.

The Ruger 22/45 is pretty much the Cadillac of 22 pistols. The Ruger single six is one of the best training pistols. If your budget is tight a Heritage Rough Rider is not bad.

I own a Heritage with a 9" barrel. It has never given me any grief. The Rough Rider has fired thousands of rounds this year. I have had it for 3 years. :) The long barrel does provide an excellent sight plane.
