22 LR Pistol: Ruger SR22 or Sig 1911-22?

I'm looking into purchasing a 22 LR pistol and I've narrowed it down to these to two options. Which one? Any other model suggestions are good too.

I've put a few thousand rounds through my sr-22 and it hasn't skipped a beat. I have a couple ruger pistols and have never had any problems!!

Nothing wrong with either one, I would go for the 1911 22lr.

Unless you just want the name Sig on your pistol, get an ATI. German Sport Guns (GSG) makes both the Sig and ATI pistols, but the Sig costs $50 more.

I have the ATI 1911 22, it is a great shooter. Also check the Pistols Umerex makes under the Colt banner, they get reviews.

My sister lens them both. She shoots the Ruger more. I think there's a couple of reasons. 1st one being her medium size hands grip the Ruger better than the 1911-22 which doesn't have a flat blackstrap. The second is that the Ruger is easier to field strip and clean than the SIG/GSG 1911. Not for me mind you but for her.
They are both quite good firearms. I would own either. In fact she's thinking about selling the SIG and I just might buy it from her.

Do you think the gsg guns are a bit over priced or worth it? They definitely seem to be well built but I haven't had the opportunity to do anything but sell them. The issc guns seem to have a better price point.

IIRC, my GSG was $390 OTD. No regrets. I have invested in the CWA stainless guide rod and spring, also bought their barrel bushing so I no longer have to use the barrel screw on the right side of the gun.

If I had a do over, I would look at the Colt. Still thinking about adding Pony to the family regardless.

The GSG 1911 22's are great practice for their full grown cousins.

Thanks for the input.
You should definitely add a pony to the collection. I just did. Lol

I have the sr22 and it is an excellent 22. Eats any ammo that i put in it.. Be careful when i was researching 22s, many of them are very picky about what ammo they like, Otherwise you will get a lot of ftf, and jams..

Another plug here for the GSG 1911-22. Fantastic Gun! I did the same CWA Upgrade that Gator did above, and it makes a big difference when doing a Breakdown for Cleaning. Never had any problems with mine at all.

I'm a Phan of ATI/GSG Guns, having Owned/Own the STG44-22, 522 (SOLD), 1911-22, AK47-22 (SOLD), and hope to own the upcoming MP40-22, in the future.

Cheers!

Not on your list but we have a Beretta Neos w/ short barrel and LOVE it! 250.00 or so and reliable, eats any ammo we have thrown at it, not a single misfire, jam or problem after thousands of rounds. The bad--10 round mags
