I have had this gun for about 15 years now. Its a .22 LR by Phoenix Arms, Its a beautiful gun and used to shoot great. I only use for target practice but now it only fires about every third shot then gets jammed. I took to gun dealer and he said he cleaned and put a new spring. But once i got back there is no improvement. The gun does not always kick the shell out so i have to open and physically remove empty shell. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to get a new gun but at least want to get this one working so i can get something for it on trade. If anyone is interested in buying i would sell for around 50 with an extra clip. I am new here and am looking forward to learning more about guns from experts.

I have been using federal lighting .22 cal bullets. I saw on net where some people say these bullets are known for jamming. Is there any truth to this?

I have a newer version of the same pistol. I don't know if it changed signifigantly over the years or what, but I've never really had much trouble with it. I know when I used cheap ammo (the federal lightning definitely qualifies) my rate of misfires went up signifigantly. Try some different ammo and see if it helps. If not try swapping the barrel with a different one and see if that remedies the problem.

I used to have a Taurus .22 revolver that would misfire every 3rd shot(light strikes)so I switched to CCI ammo and it was a quick fix to the problem.I think CCI's rim is a hair thicker,which puts the rim a hair closer to the firing pin when it goes off.I went from misfire every 3rd round to almost none.Try CCI,all the CCI stuff worked good for me.CCI Minimags were about the best price and performance I found.

This an old post but I may have an answer for failure to eject. If you dry fire, the firing pin hits the barrel. After a while, you will have peened a bit of metal into the chamber where the shell goes. The spent cartridge is hanging up on the burr of metal. Most likely your firing pin is also peened over causing failure to fire. Do not dry fire this weapon! Also, the manufacture specifies to use only standare velocity ammo which is 1150fps ammo with probably a 40 grain bullet. DO NOT USE HIGH VELOCITY AMMO!!
