I just dont want to get a lemon of a sig if I do it and feel bad for doing that trade. I paid 1k for my 1911 and I know the 229 is a little cheaper also. Any input appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Both guns are about the same price wise depending on age condition etc. SIG makes a world class pistol so it's not like you'll be trading down. There are a lot of excellent SD loads out there in .40 because everyone wants to get the LE contracts. I live ammo in the 155-165 HP range in the .40. Long answer to say, sure, I would do the trade if I wanted a SIG.
