Now that was my opinion as well, having shot that steel target thousands of times the 185 seemed to smack it harder or at least the velocity increase is evident to the eye. One of the videos I watched said penetration was 11" to 12" in substitute ballistic gel so even if you didn't get complete penetration the "perp" would have absorbed the full energy of the round! That would appear to be a good thing in a home defense situation.
