i just got a 10mm auto loader and dont real know what kind of ammo to get. im buying some hornady 180 grain. does any one know if here is any better ammo on the market. by better i mean for self defence.

If you are not recoil sensitive, use the Proload 180 Gold Dots. 1300 honest fps out of my 1006. Recoil is stiff but a Sprinco recoil reducer helps with that.
Civilian legal Winchester 175 gr silvertips clock about 1250 fps for a substantial wollop.
Sub sonics are for girls (and FBI Agents).

The 10mm is an awsome rounds. For self defance it is top notch. What type of pistol did you get.

The early 1911 Colt Delta Elite were known to manfunction and break because of the slide velocity this smokin little puppy produced. I have shot them and I can tell you what hey shre do pack a whole lot of whop azz in to that little cartridge. Some day I will have me a Colt Delta Elite.

On a side note the last gun show I went to about 9 months ago had a blued Delta elite in 90+% range looked to be almost NIB. the price tag on it was $650 I about fell over and was about to whip out the old amazon.com visa and buy it but if I had done that I would ot be sitting here talking about it right now.

it was my first handgun and its a new glock g20 10mm. it has 15 rd clips i like it but i would like to sho0t 200 grain. the guys at the gun shop said it will be ok to shoot 200's if they where jacketed. is that right????

DO NOT SHOOT ANY UNJACKTED BULLETS THROUGH A GLOCK. Unless you have installed an aftermarket barrel. Glock barrels are not suitable for plain lead bullets.

Excuse me, but, that simply isn't true!

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of forum members over at Glock Talk who do exactly that - And, by the thousands and thousands of rounds too. (You're corresponding with one of them, now!) Like so many other things in life you simply have to know how to do it correctly.

I will, also, point out that the Owner's Instruction Manual which comes with every new Glock pistol does NOT contain a warning against the use of lead bullets. So how about putting a stop to this great internet myth, right here!

I would point you in the direction of midwayusa.com I buy all my ammo for my 10 mm's there, I personaly am a Double Tap and Buffalo Bore fan, you take your pick, they have a larg variety to pick from and are fairly priced. The above mentioned are full house loads in what ever grain bullet you deside on, you may want to go with a heavy spring before you run these loads if you are still using stock one, less where and tear on your pistola, congrats on the G 20 fantastic choice, I have two!!!

How so? Dare I quote from the Glock owners manual? Shooting unjacketed ammo through a Glock barrel is flirting with disaster. You may get away with it for 100 rds and #101 MAY blow up your barrel. You may never have a problem. There is sufficient information to believe it is not advisable.
