Default Shooting

I have told everyone in our group they are welcome to come shoot with me. I have a little over 300 acres where we can shoot, campout, hunt, practice survival skills. I live north of Kansas City about 18 miles and my land is about 80 from me. I have driven up there many times for the day and spent 5 to 6 hours shooting and honing my combat tactics. Anyone interested can call me on my cell phone. 816 807 5461. I have some areas where we can practice long range shooting. I have no problem scheduling a shooting day.

That is music to my ears. I will call and introduce myself one night this week. Sounds like to much fun to pass up, I would gladly pay for your ammo just for the invitation.

Hey guys!

New member here, live in NE Jackson county, east of Independence. Just a few miles from the Lake City range...which is a nice range.....if you like drill instructors barking orders at you. Understandable I suppose.

I personally like to run out to the conservation range south of Concordia. It's an unmanned range, 25, 50 and 100 yards. Never seems to be overcrowded. The last time we went, we each ran about 400 rounds and didn't have anyone waiting on us to shoot.

Look forward to talking guns with you all.

Dean

I was just out to Lake City a few weeks ago, it's a nice setup and the male range masters were very helpful and polite, however the bull dyke range master seemed to enjoy busting balls! I watched her rip some old boy for not having his bolt locked open! She then started on me through the intercom telling me not to remove my weapon from its bag on the bench behind the shooting tables, I ignored her as I continued to pull out my telescope to view my targets! The other range master who was helping out several shooters just smiled an rolled his eyes

At Lake City, they have a spiel they tell everyone. Range rules and where the target stands are stored. Fast direct and to the point. If you are not familiar with gun / range lingo, it will catch you off guard. They use a two color (red /green) lane indicator that you are responsible for changing.

Over the PA system, they constantly bark orders. Like the previous poster mentioned, they will single you out and make sure you aren't doing any "un-safe".

I had shot my grouping, and was waiting for the range to clear - a younger guy arrived, got the spiel from the range master and went to find an open shooting lane. Well apparently he didn't listen very well to the spiel, as he started to un-case his rifle...they started in on him through the PA..., then he did something else they didn't like, another verbal assault from the RM. That guy couldn't do anything right in the range master eyes. They ended up belittling him then kicking him off the range. He didn't even fire a shot.

I kinda felt sorry for the guy. I thought the range master should have got off the PA and had a private conversation with him. Maybe explained the rules one more time. Or maybe the guy was a total dufus and had no business there. Not sure, but I know I really didn't enjoy my trip there. If i wanted to listen to a DS, then i would have stayed in the army. I do know I would rather drive an hour to another range then ten minutes to Lake City.
