Default Fair Trade ?

I have been wanting a Winchester 9422M XTR for a while now. I do not have the funds available, so I have been thinking. Does this sound like an even trade ? Winchester Model 70 Sporter Magnum XTR in 300 Win Mag. Beautiful wood, excellent condition. Trade for 9422M XTR in same excellent condition ? The Model 70 was made in 1986, I believe. It seems as though the Model 70 should be worth more than the 22 mag. Any comments please.

Hell of a trade for you. If that's what you want. The .22 mag is worth $800 all day, the 300 is worth maybe $550.

It's great to see there really are people on the MO section! I wish more locals would come here. Most people respond with "I would never trade a 300 Win Mag for a 22". I can understand that. I also have been following auctions on Gun Broker and see them go for $600 - $800, with occasional ones with box and hang tags around $900-$1100 (asking price). I bought the 300 when I had a good job making a good living, with intentions of going elk hunting out West. Then the economy took a dump and I no longer see that happening. I deer hunt here in Missouri in the hills and the brush, so the 300 just sits in the safe. That's what got me to thinking about the trade. Thank you guys for the replies.

Given the values and your usefulness factor, sounds ok to me. Looks like a great 22 rifle; although I've never held one.

Btw - welcome from SEMO.

A good/fair trade is when both parties are 100% happy
