Note to self: Don't try shooting clays with my 9mm. Some of the scatter on my targets would easily let a 4" clay get past!

And especially, don't try it at Bobski's. That would violate rules 1, 4, 7, 11, 18, 22 and 27 at least.

I have shot clays with my 22 but they weren't moving.

so since most of you are shooting single bbl guns at the meet, how do you handle changing chokes in a gun with only one bbl and one choke in during the games?

Well, my routine might be a little different than others.

My 12ga pump has a fixed modified barrel, so there's no changing that.

My 20ga has a dial a duck, and I plan on using it on full for those longer range shots.

Basically, I will swap guns, not chokes.

I just read the rules, and didn't see anything about chokes (if it was there, I may have missed it).

I'm guessing that if your going to change chokes, you should do it between games. Right?

that is correct. chokes are changed between games at your car or on the picnic table or...etc..
and correct, now you see the beauty of dial a duck.
---------------

but back to the question.

youre in the middle of a game. cant change chokes

say your gun is a mod choke and you dont want it to spread as much when you hit the target. what do you do?

or how about this? the ideal shot on skeet is 21yds. you have a full choke. if you shoot at 21yds, your pattern will only be 18" instead of 30".
where should you hit the target?

I ask if I have the right choke and if I don't, I ask them to change it for me. Though I suspect that wasn't the answer you were looking for.

nope...see. this is why this thread is important to all of you. im willing to help you before you get here.

secret is....

if you want to change your choke....delay or speed up your shot. 1 second will change your choke one up or one down on target.

CYL
SKT
IC
MOD
FULL
XFULL

1. you have a mod choke and you dont want to spread your shot too much.
A: shoot the target when its closest to you.

2. you have a full choke and you want to increase the pattern.
A: let the target go further out and away.

so the answer to changing chokes on a gun with one bbl is to play the distances.
