remington game loads with a picture of a dove on the box is the best priced 16ga ammo. walmart use to have it for 5.79, then up to 7.00 then it went away here.
i dont know these days where they have it if any. just remember, 16ga loads are usually 1oz of lead. hot loads are considered normal 12ga 1 1/8oz.

1200fps is the game standard. anything less is less kick. anything more is kapowie!

A few years back, I went to Walmart to get a box of 16 GA . The only kind they had was Remington #4 long range.

You can get the sport loads online, or probably at a store like Cabelas, Bass Pro, Academy, ect.

make sure the gun you choose is chambered for 2 3/4". older 16ga were 2 9/16.

academy is still the best place for cheap shells. 4.99 for 12a 1oz 8's all day. im sure they have cheap 16ga.

It's 2 3/4"

They didn't make many Mossberg bolt actions in 2 9/16" did they?
