Just got back from the pawn shop. They had a bolt, but it did not have an adjustable choke, or threading for any kind of choke. I passed. If I get one, I'll have to get it online. I'm going to try to get one like that Mossberg I posted. (Apparently, I have a thing for Mossberg shotguns, and didn't even know it )

Ok Bobki, have another question for you. I just found a 16 GA that would work. I also found a 12 GA for more that would work. Both are basically the same gun, and similar conditions. How hard is it to find cheap 16 GA ammo?

I know 16 GA is a little more than 12 GA or 20 GA, but would it bee too cost prohibitive?

If it's not, I'm thinking I'd want the 16 GA since its a little cheaper, and I already have 2 12 GAs.

16 ammo is hard to come by. averages about 2-3 bucks a box more than 12.

i have 16ga reloads at the club, but not many. not enough for a shoot. and...its all 9's. youll still need 7 1/2 shot.

i like mossy bolts myself. dial-a-ducks are so much more practical than screw-ins. no fumbling around in your pockets for chokes, just reach up and twist.

cheap guns maybe...but if they are worn out, it has to be for a reason. they worked for decades.

and too remember, you already have a gun for skeet. if the bolt you saw is a fixed full choke....why not? use it for the trap portion of the match and rack the mossy. if it is in goodshape and cheap....might want to reconsider the pawn shop gun.

Not sure what the pawn shop gun was. It didn't say on the barrel.

The Mossberg I'm looking at is in pretty good condition, at a really good price.

I'll think about the 16 GA. From what I've seen, 12 GA runs about 0.25 per round, while 16 GA runs .32 per round. Not a huge difference unless I shoot a LOT of it. How many rounds would I need if I just used it when I needed full choke?

Ok, that's only $7 difference. I'll probably get the 16 GA if I can.
