finally you have an avatar i like 'winds'...keep it!
wow...what a day. all the planning paid off.
had a scare around 730am when we fired up the trap, the hesitator plunger broke and the machine wouldnt cock! had it fixed within an hour and the rest of the day went well.
40mph winds were clocked here! it was so windy, the empty hulls were blowing around on the sidewalks!
but...it was 70deg!!!
2 fellows from jonesboro never showed, but 2 locals came and filled in the slots, so we had a good crowd. 1 family scheduled for sunday, rescheduled when they saw the weather forecast, so we had more than enough to make it fun. it would have been fun with any one of you guys alone...because you were all exceptional students and forum members.
ironhorse spent the night in his camper and used the club for breakfast...and the place smelled of bacon and eggs when we came in!
my coffee pots crapped out, but ironhorse had his railroad grade camping pot and made coffee for everyone.
CONGRATS TO OZARKFROG...WINNER OF THE TROPHY!
i think ironhorse944 would have won....but he had to pull out of the match!!!!!!!!!!!!! he got called back to work in kansas city and had to leave early.
hey ironhorse....guess what? when we shot skeet, i picked up the wrong gun and was shooting with a full choke! thats why i was missing!
after you left, i shot a perfect game.
since there werent enough people for an annie oakly, we subt'd with more skeet.
i made it back to 40yds to win the match for ozarkforg, in a shootoff with arky, since i shot in proxy for low score!
we all went to the steak house for awards, photo op, and chat afterwards, and the day was over by 730pm. i went home and collapsed in bed...worn out!
i certainly appreciate the distances you all traveled to be here. i hope you all were satisfied and that we performed to your standards.
most of all, when you hear people talk about guns having to be 30" barrels on forums, you can laugh now...because you saw what 26" bbls can do in the right hands.
choke and lead...is the name of the game when it comes to clay pigeons..as you all learned.
i look forward to this again in oct! see you then!
frog.....youre local, come by anytime! you were deadly once you fixed your mossy 500!
next time...buy a winchester!
today is rain and sopping wet. its a washout. glad we shot saturday! the clouds parted just for us.
